Islamabad: The government has announced to celebrate Thanksgiving Day across the country on May 16, 2025, for the historic victory in the Battle of Haq.

On Thanksgiving Day, tributes will be paid to the people of Pakistan and the armed forces of Pakistan. On the occasion of Thanksgiving Day, the day will begin with Quran recitation and special prayers in mosques.
A 31-gun salute will be given in the federal capital and a 21-gun salute in the provincial capitals.
Changing of the Guards ceremony will be held at the Quaid-e-Azam and Iqbal Shrines, and flag hoisting ceremonies will be held in the federal and provincial capitals. Flowers will be laid at martyrs' memorials and prayer ceremonies will be held across the country.
Special meetings will be held with the families of the martyrs of Operation Bunyan Marsus to pay tribute.
The main event of the Day of Thanksgiving will be held tonight at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad. The Prime Minister will be the chief guest of the main event, while the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and the Chief of Armed Forces will also be part of the event.
