Bangladesh Cricket Board confirms not to play ODI matches in Pakistan tour, why was this decision made?

The Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed that they will not play any ODI matches during the tour of Pakistan.


According to the Bangladesh Cricket Board official, the Future Tour program series will consist of T20 matches, this series will not have ODI matches but all T20 matches.

In this regard, it has been said that this decision has been taken due to the preparation of the T20 Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup.

It should be remembered that the Asia Cup 2025 is to be hosted by India, while the T20 World Cup 2026 is to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Earlier, Bangladesh's tour of Pakistan included 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches, but now the series will consist of 5 T20 matches.

The Bangladesh cricket team is scheduled to tour Pakistan in May, while the Pakistan team will tour Bangladesh in July, where 3 T20 matches will be played.

The decision for this additional series was taken by the officials of both the cricket boards in a meeting during the Champions Trophy.

The T20 matches between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played on July 20, 22 and 24.
